Hood River is about an hour’s scenic drive from Portland, Oregon, which is the closest major airport. We’ve made this trip many times and highly recommend renting a car for the most flexibility (we’ll also share a carpool list closer to the wedding). If you prefer public transportation, you can take the Amtrak from Portland to the Bingen-White Salmon station or hop on the Columbia Gorge Express bus line.
GETTING THERE
In August of this year, we’ll update this site with a list of our top hotels in the area, whether you’re looking for something simple and affordable or planning to turn the weekend into a little getaway. Hood River is a small town and popular destination, so we recommend booking in advance!

We picked Hood River because it is one of our favorite places in the Pacific Northwest!
